Our story

Meet our founder.

Helpvets.com was founded over 25 years ago by David Kimbrough.

David grew up in the “Thrift Store Business”. His father and business partner pioneered the idea of for-profit thrift, allowing charities they partnered with to concentrate on distribution of capital raised by their fundraising efforts instead of running day-to-day businesses, overhead and logistics. Over these decades, Helpvets, along with other solicitation efforts in tandem with charities, has generated millions of dollars to be used directly by charities worry free, a business model of environmental stewardship he is currently passing on to his three wonderful boys.

By providing a one-step solution, full transparency and an easy link between donors of used goods and charitable causes, Helpvets has been the nation’s leader in providing an easy, fast and friendly way for our customers to provide charities with a direct source of income stemming from donations of gently used goods. In turn, your donations help reduce landfill waste by millions of tons every year!
